HOMS, (ST)-The Syrian Arab army has established full control over 100 square kilometers in the south and northeast of Palmyra after it eliminated the last gathering of Deash terrorists there, a military source said on Tuesday.
In a statement to SANA, the source said the army units in cooperation with the allied forces carried out successful fast and accurate military operations against ISIS terrorists in Palmyra’s Badia and established control over an area of 100 square kilometers to the south and northeast of the city after inflicting heavy human and material losses on terrorists.
The army units are carrying on their combat operations and chasing down ISIS terrorists, the source added.
On Monday, a military source told SANA that the Syrian army and allies carried out special operations against ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Homs and established control over a number of important points in Dohour al-Ghanaem area,7 k.m north of Abu Kala dam, killing a number of ISIS terrorists and destroying their vehicles.
Meantime, the Syrian Air Force launched a series of raids on sites and movements of ISIS terrorist organization in Deir Ezzor.
SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the raids concentrated on command centers for ISIS to the east of Deir Ezzor Airport, resulting in the destruction of 3 centers and the death and injury of a number of ISIS leaders.
The reporter added that 7 vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns and a number of ISIS terrorists were killed due to the airstrikes of Syrian army on ISIS movements to the south of the graveyards area.
He said that an army unit fired artillery shells on ISIS in the area surrounding Liwaa al-Tameen on the southern outskirts of Deir Ezzor city, killing 6 terrorists.
