Al-Sudani: Ending the Vicious Israeli Attack on Gaza and Lebanon is the Responsibility of Everyone, Specifically the Security Council

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani stressed that stopping the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon is everyone’s responsibility, primarily the Security Council, which has failed to achieve its most important objectives in maintaining international peace and security.

In a speech at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York yesterday, al-Sudani was quoted as saying: “the Palestinian people are subjected to continuous attacks from an occupying military force that displaces millions, kills thousands engages in the crime of mass starvation to exterminate this people without facing any deterrent measures, as the international community or any of its members have not committed themselves to the responsibility to protect in accordance with international law.”

Al- Sudani went on to say: “We have witnessed in Lebanon a brutal Israeli campaign of indiscriminate killing and the use of technology to carry out remote bombings, without regard for unarmed civilians.”

“We express the support of the government and the people of Iraq to Lebanon as it faces aggression that seeks to flood the region with conflicts that we have already warned about, and we will continue to provide assistance to overcome the effects of these attacks,” he added.
