Daraa-(ST)_ The local community, in cooperation with Bosra al-Sham City Council, launched a campaign to rehabilitate and afforest one of the city’s parks and some public facilities, according to City Council Chairman Suleiman al-Shahma.
Al-Shahmah explained that the campaign included rehabilitating the park located next to Hajj’s Pond and planting the sidewalks inside the city with pine, cypress and eucalyptus trees.
Head of the Department of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Fares, considered that expanding afforestation campaigns is a necessity and a duty for everyone to participate in, because of its benefits to the environment and humans, calling for establishing a culture of protecting the environment and preserving trees so that we can live in a clean and healthy environment.
Firas Al-Dous, an official in the campaign, pointed the campaign’s importance in contributing to preserving the city’s aesthetics and preserving public facilities.
