Daraa-(ST)- Hundreds of families benefit from the initiatives launched by the Al-Ber Social Services society and Imam Al-Nawawi Association in Daraa in cooperation and coordination with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor.
The initiatives launched under the title (Share in Good) include distributing food baskets and financial aid to the most needy families in society, including widows, families of martyrs, the wounded, the disabled, and others.
Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Daraa, Nibal Al-Hariri, explained in a statement to SANA’s correspondent that the directorate works in partnership with civil society organizations to secure the needs of the neediest families during the holy month of Ramadan, in order to enhance solidarity and reduce the burdens on citizens in the light of difficult economic conditions.
Member of the Executive Office of the Daraa Governorate Council, responsible for the relief sector Walid Al-Dakhoul explained that charities, in cooperation with economic activities, will distribute up to 4,400 food baskets in the cities of Daraa and Nawa, with financial amounts exceeding 30 million liras.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Ber and Social Services Society and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Engineer Qasim Al-Masalma, stated that the association launched initiatives with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, in cooperation with economic activities, in order to alleviate the burden of the most needy families. The initiative included food baskets, clothes, and financial aid, noting that about 3,000 families benefit from the food baskets and about 2,000 families from financial aid, in addition to providing clothing for 2,700 orphan children before Eid al-Fitr.
Head of the Imam Al-Nawawi Association, Mounir Al-Hamza, stated that the association’s initiative includes distributing 1,400 food baskets to the most needy families and about 30 million liras to needy families during the holy month.
