OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, (ST)- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has declared an end to all agreements signed with the United States and Israel, stressing that the American administration is a main partner in the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinians.
Abbas’ decision was made in response to the Israeli occupation’s plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.
In a statement on Tuesday, Abbas said that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian state will not abide anymore by the “agreements and understandings” signed with Tel Aviv and Washington.
He added that the Israeli occupation authorities, as of today, have to shoulder all responsibilities and obligations in front of the international community as an occupying power over the territory of the occupied state of Palestine, with all its consequences and repercussions based on international law and international humanitarian law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.
He pointed out that “the Fourth Geneva Convention holds the occupying power responsible for the protection of the civilian population under occupation and their property. It criminalizes collective punishment, bans theft of resources and annexation of land, prohibits forced transfer of the population of the occupied territory and the transfer of the population of the occupying state to the land it occupies, which all are grave violations and war crimes.”
