Libyan Foreign Ministry urges international community to condemn the flagrant Turkish intervention in Libya
BEGHAZI, (ST)- Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has called on the international community, mainly the UN mission in Libya and the European Union, to condemn the blatant Turkish intervention in Libya.
In a statement on Monday, the ministry said that the international community should condemn the massacres committed by the Turkish colonialism and its mercenaries in the Libyan cities of Sebrata, Serman, al-Rujban and al-Jmeil.
The ministry also condemned Turkey’s siege of Tarhouna city and its war crimes including the acts of shelling residential areas, killing civilians and attacking food and fuel convoys.
The ministry stressed that the goal of the Libyan people and army is to liberate the capital Tripoli from terrorists, militias, outlaws and foreign mercenaries and to end the Turkish aggression in order to establish a democratic civil state for all the Libyans where there is no chaos or terrorism.
Regarding the latest attacks in the vicinity of foreign embassies in Tripoli, the ministry said that the Libyan army completely denies targeting some diplomatic headquarters in the capital and it considers such attacks as a violation of international laws and conventions.
The ministry reiterated that the Libyan army’s operations aim at protecting the country and citizens from terrorists and criminals and at attaining peace, security and stability in the country.
