Renewed protests in Beirut and some Lebanese areas

The protests were renewed today in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and other areas, in demand of an improvement of the living conditions in the country.

The National Media Agency reported that groups of protesters gathered today in Riad al-Solh Square in central Beirut, at a time that coincided with the convening of the Lebanese Parliamentary Committee to discuss the recovery of the looted and smuggled funds abroad. The protestors called for the need to restore the funds and improve the living conditions in Lebanon.

 

The demonstrators  also carried out a protest in front of the Ministry of Communications in Beirut, in rejection  of corruption and demanding  an improvement of the living conditions, especially for workers and holding  the corrupt accountable.

In Saida, protesters gathered in front of the Palace of Justice in the city and chanted slogans demanding an independent judiciary. Other protestors took a stand in Al-Alam Square in Tire to protest the living conditions and chanted slogans calling for an independent judiciary.

In Baalbek, in the Bekaa, truck owners carried out a sit-in on Rayak Baalbek international road in the locality of Brettal to protest against their prevention from carrying out their work since the issuance of the general mobilization decision due to the spread of the Corona epidemic and they closed the road for some time amid security measures.

The traffic control room reported that protesters, demanding an improvement in the living conditions and allowing truck owners to resume their work, halted the traffic on the Zahrani Highway in southern Lebanon.
