Havana (ST): Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel denounced the armed attack carried out yesterday on the Cuban embassy in Washington .
In a tweet he made today, Díaz-Canel condemned the attack demanding an investigation into the attack, and stressing that all states should protect the diplomatic missions accredited to them.
The Cuban embassy in Washington was subjected yesterday to a gunfire attack by an unknown attacker, but no human casualties were reported.
In turn, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla said in a televised speech that the Charge D’Affaires of the US embassy in Havana was summoned an informed by Cuba’s severe protest against the terrorist attack, noting that that the systematic statements made by US Secretary of State and other US officials against Cuba encourage such terrorist attacks.
He added that the Cuban government was waiting for the investigations being made by Washington to know the identity of the attacker and the motives behind the attack, calling on the US State Department to take all necessary measures stipulated in Vienna Agreement to protect the Cuban embassy and the permanent mission in New York .
