Good results for rhythmic gymnastics team in Russia

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The women’s national rhythmic gymnastics team have returned home after taking part in the Chekhov International Tournament which was held in Russia.

The national team competed in the following disciplines: ropes, balls, hoops, clubs and ribbons.

Gymnasts Leila Darwish, Dina Sheikh Ali and Talar Kibeh made it through to the eight round after they successfully passed the preliminary round.

In the eighth round, Darwish finished second while the winner and the runner-up went to Russian gymnasts.

Sheikh Ali came third in the youth individual contest.

It is to be noted that some 65 gymnasts representing 17 teams took part in the said event.
