DAMASCUS, Apr.19, (ST)-Today, Damascus Governorate, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Peace Foundation in Italy, launched the integrated one-week training course for administrative and technical employees in the governorate.
The training course took place at the “Cham” Hotel in Damascus, as part of joint cooperation and exchange of experience between Syria and Italy.
The course program includes sustainable goals, analysis and planning, project evaluation, archaeology, and a working day in Jobar.
During the opening ceremony, Damascus Governor Maher Marwan said that these courses are the fruit of constructive cooperation between the Damascus Governorate, on the one hand, and the Italian government and the Italian Peace Organization, on the other.
“They represent a distinctive model of constructive partnership based on mutual respect and a desire to achieve sustainable development and support local and institutional capacities,” he added.
The governor expressed his hope that these courses would contribute to empowering the governorate’s employees, enhancing institutional performance, and opening new horizons for cooperation with friends in Italy.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador to Damascus, Stefano Raffanian, highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with Damascus Governorate and opening new horizons in various fields, including urban planning, services, culture, and others.
He indicated that these important courses represent the beginning of cooperation between the two sides.
For her part, Simona Fernandez, President of the Italian Peace Organization, said that these courses represent a step towards strengthening relations and future cooperation between the two countries, noting that the organization will provide support for the ideas and steps that will be presented during the courses.
