Occupied Al-Quds-The Palestinian NGO Network warned of the collapse of the humanitarian work system in Gaza Strip, due to the Israeli occupation preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, calling on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities and declare the Strip a famine zone.
The Wafa News Agency quoted the network as saying in a statement today: Dozens of bakeries and community kitchens have stopped working due to the occupation preventing the entry of food supplies, as most of the people of the Strip depend on them for their daily food after losing their sources of income.
The network warned of the serious repercussions of the rapid deterioration of the humanitarian situation and its effects on the reality of the lives of the people, most of whom are now suffering from repeated displacement, and are staying in dilapidated tents that cannot withstand the rain, cold and wind.
The network renewed its call on the United Nations to declare Gaza Strip a famine zone and assume its legal and moral responsibility towards this deterioration occurring at all levels, and to save the lives of the people and provide them with protection, explaining that the Strip is going through the most dangerous and worst phase since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, especially in the north, which requires serious intervention from all international parties to stop the aggression.
