On February 27th, Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament Hanafi Jabali stressed the necessity for Syria’s return to its Arab environment.

Jabali said, during a session of the Egyptian Parliament, “Syria was and still is a fundamental pillar of common Arab action, and an indispensable pivotal element of the Arab national security system.”

Jabali visited Damascus yesterday as a member of the delegation of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union that was formed during the Baghdad meeting. He affirmed during a speech at the Syrian People’s Assembly that there is a strong historical brotherly relationship between Egypt and Syria.
