Chinese Defense: NATO must stop fabricating lies and stirring up tensions

Beijing (ST): China renewed its demand for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to stop fabricating lies, fueling confrontations and raising tensions, stressing that it will firmly defend its national sovereignty, security and development interests, and will not allow external forces to destabilize the Asia-Pacific region.

The Xinhua news agency stated that the Chinese Ministry of National Defense spokesman, “Wu Qian”, in response to a journalist’s question, expressed his country’s strong opposition to content related to China that was mentioned in a strategic concept document published by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “NATO” that distorts facts, incites confrontation and conflicts, and makes irresponsible statements on China’s normal military development and national defense policy.

Over the years, Qian said, the Chinese military has actively participated in international peacekeeping operations, naval escorts and humanitarian aid, and his country has always been a contributor to global growth, a defender of international order and a provider of global public goods.
