Kiev authorities lost their independence and sovereignty by being dragged behind the West, says Medvedev

Moscow, (ST) – Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev warned of the danger of the Kiev authorities being dragged behind Western countries and the consequent threat to their existence.

TASS News Agency quoted Medvedev as saying that, “Ukraine lost its independence after the 2014 coup and has come under the direct control of the collective West, believing that NATO will guarantee its security and as a result of everything that is happening Ukraine may lose remnants of state sovereignty and disappear from the world map.”

Medvedev said that, contrary to logic and common sense, NATO continues to approach Russia’s borders, which creates a real threat in the world. He expressed his confidence that the Ukrainian criminals will be brought to justice for the atrocities committed against the peoples of Ukraine and Russia.

Medvedev had recently confirmed that the Ukrainian people are not an enemy of Russia, but rather those in power there are fanatical nationalists who pose a threat to the security of Russia and the security of the people in Donbass.
