Islamabad, (ST) – The first flight of a Cham Wings Airlines plane from Damascus International Airport arrived at Lahore Airport in Pakistan yesterday afternoon.
The flights “Damascus – Lahore – Damascus” were scheduled at a rate of one flight per week, as the flights will depart from Damascus to Lahore every Sunday at 11:30 pm and the return flight from Lahore to Damascus every Monday at 6 am. The flights and prices are scheduled in the company’s reservation system.
On board of the plane heading to Lahore, the commercial director of Cham Wings Airlines, Hamdi Khalaf clarified in a statement to the media that this is the company’s second stop in Pakistan after previous regular flights have been operated to Karachi since late 2021 until today.
Khalaf clarified that this new destination comes within the framework of the company’s vision to expand travel options and facilitate tourism, cultural, commercial and scientific exchange between Syria and Pakistan, which achieves the common benefit for both countries and allows the company to be a qualitative and effective contribution to supporting the national economy and trade movement between Syria and other countries.
In turn, the Director of Public Relations and Business Development at the company, Osama Sateh, said: This flight is of great importance to the company and travelers because it contributes to increasing the number of visits and visitors to Syria.
A number of Pakistanis traveling on the plane from Syria to Pakistan expressed the importance of this flight as it opened a new door for them to reach their country, praising the services provided.
They called for the opening of more lines between Syria and Pakistan and other countries to facilitate travel for everyone in all countries for the purpose of visiting, working, studying, tourism, etc.
Syrian Ambassador to Pakistan Ramez Al-Rai stressed in a statement to the flight’s crew and the accompanying media delegation the importance of this event, which indicates the depth of cooperation between Syria and Pakistan and the importance of developing relations as it came as a result of the efforts made by the two countries through the concerned authorities in each country.
He pointed out that this step, accomplished by the company came as a completion to the previous step, which is operating flights to Karachi, contributes greatly to developing trade relations, facilitates communication and movement of Pakistanis and Syrians between the two countries and provides new and positive opportunities for businessmen from both sides, which creates more promising investment opportunities that benefit the people of the two friendly countries.
On December 15, 2021, Cham Wings Airlines launched its flights to Karachi in Pakistan and they are still operating to this day, with one flight per week every Wednesday and a return flight the following day, Thursday.
