OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Feb.9, (ST)-Israeli settlers uprooted on Wednesday around 60 recently planted olive tree saplings in an area west of the northern West Bank city of Salfit, according to the owner of the trees, Fayez Abdul Dayem.
“He said he just planted these saplings, each between 3 to 5 years old, in his land to replace 250 other olive trees the army has uprooted from his land three months ago, according to WAFA news agency.
Abdul Dayem also said that the settlers vandalized a room he had built in his land where he would stay while working on the land breaking windows and doors.
Protests against assassination of 3 Palestinian activists
In another development, Palestinian people protested this afternoon in several West Bank cities against the Israeli occupation’s assassination of three Palestinian activists in Nablus yesterday and clashed with Israeli soldiers , according to witnesses.
The Israeli occupation soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the protesters causing suffocation cases.
A general strike was declared today in the West Bank cities in protest against the killings.
