Zionist regime sees survival in waging wars: Iran

Tehran– The occupying Zionist regime of Israel is trying to wage conflicts and tensions in the region to secure its survival, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

The remarks by Bahram Qasemi were made late on Wednesday in reaction to Germany’s stance on what the European nation described as Iran’s role in escalating tensions following the downing of a Zionist regime fighter-bomber by the Syrian army, IRNA reported.

‘Iran as a rational, stable and stabilizing country with a long history principally does not need escalation and conflicts in the region; rather it is the aggressive, occupying Zionist regime that has endangered stability and peace in the region should be blamed,’ Qasemi said.

‘Iran sees Syria’s defense of its territorial integrity and national sovereignty against aggressions as a legal legitimate right of the country, while it remains to denounce claims on any role played by Iran in the incident as baseless,’ he said.

An F-16 fighter jet belonged to the Zionist regime was downed by the Syrian army during an offensive in Syria on February 10, after it violated the country’s air space.

‘Escalation in the region is not Iran’s policy, but we deeply believe that the international community and countries of the world should take long strides in confronting consecutive aggression, occupation and destabilization of the Zionist regime, and find a firm, due response to the false and hawkish propaganda of a fake regime that sees its illegitimate survival in fueling conflicts and tensions in the region,’ Qasemi added.
