Occupied Jerusalem (ST)_ A number of Palestinians were injured and others were arrested on Friday as the occupation forces suppressed an anti-settlement demonstration in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the West Bank.
Ma’an News Agency reported that the occupation forces fired bullets and poison gas canisters at the participants in an anti-settlement demonstration in Umm al-Shaqan area in the town, causing a number of Palestinians to suffocate, and the occupation forces arrested two Palestinians and a foreign activist.
In another development, dozens of Palestinians were injured today as the Israeli occupation forces suppressed a demonstration condemning the settlements in Beit Dajan, east of Nablus in the West Bank.
Wafa news agency reported that the occupation forces opened fire and threw poison gas canisters at the participants in the demonstration, which took place in protest against the occupation’s seizure of areas of the village’s lands and the establishment of a settlement outpost, which led to one of them being shot and dozens others suffocated.
The village of Beit Dajan has been witnessing daily demonstrations for months to protest against the occupation’s plans to seize areas of its lands and expand settlement operations.
