Israeli occupation’s prevention of Palestinian patients to leave Gaza for treatment a blatant abuse of international law
Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al- Kaila has stressed that the Israeli occupation Authorities’ prevention of Palestinian patients to leave the besieged Gaza Strip to receive medical treatment is a blatant abuse of the International Humanitarian Law. She called for stopping these practices and holding the Israeli authorities accountable for such crimes.
In a statement on Monday, Al-Kaila said that the Palestinian patients are not allowed by the occupation to be treated in the hospitals of the West Bank and this in itself is a blatant violation of the International Humanitarian Law.
She called for the international community to interfere as to put an end to the Israeli occupation’s violations and hold the occupation accountable for this crime, pointing out that the Fourth Geneva Convention recognizes the right of patients and wounded people to have access to medical treatment.
