Israeli Occupation Government Seeks Implementing a Plan to Establish Railway Linking between “Israel” and Saudi Arabia

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, (ST)- The government of the Israeli entity continues efforts to implement a plan aiming to establish a railway linking between Israel and Saudi Arabia, Israeli Minister of Intelligence and Transport Yisrael Katz has said.

The move again stresses the successive normalization steps between the occupation entity and the Saudi regime.

In a statement reported by  the Israeli TV Channel 12, Katz said that the plan, which is being promoted by him together with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “will consolidate Israel’s position in the region and will boost its economy”.

Katz announced the plan last July, saying that Israel is working as to implement it.

“As you can see this regional project will link trains to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates,” he told Israeli media outlets.

The Israeli “Yedioth Ahronoth “newspaper said Last January that the railway will connect “Israel” to Saudi Arabia via Jordan.

The move is the latest in a series showing warming ties between Israel and Gulf states that are increasingly coming out in the open.

Bin Salman, Netanyahu met secretly in Amman: Report

On Saturday, Press TV cited the Israeli Maariv newspaper as reporting on Friday that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have held secret meetings in Amman.

The two sides met at the Royal Palace in the Jordanian capital on the sidelines of a visit to Amman by White House special adviser Jared Kushner and US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt.

Citing an informed source, the report said bin Salman’s meetings with Netanyahu took place both with and without the presence of Jordan’s King Abdullah.

Jacky Hugi, the political analyst of the newspaper, said, “A close friend told me about the incident, claiming that there were direct contacts between the two parties, both Saudi and Israeli, under the auspices of King Abdullah of Jordan.”

Israel and Saudi Arabia have no diplomatic relations, but they are widely believed to have secret liaisons. Latest reports say the two regimes are working behind the scenes to establish formal relations, according to Press TV.

Kushner and Greenblatt are on a regional tour to discuss Washington’s so-called “peace plan” with officials in the occupied territories, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Qatar.

The Saudi crown prince recently sparked controversy by telling the Palestinians that they should either accept peace proposals or “shut up.”

“It’s about time that the Palestinians accept the offers, and agree to come to the negotiating table — or they should shut up and stop complaining,” Israel’s Channel 10 news quoted Salman as saying during a trip to New York in March.
