Israeli occupation forces arrested 1228 Palestinians in April

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, May.23, (ST)_ The Israeli occupation forces have arrested 1228 Palestinians, most of them from the occupied city of Al-Quds [Jerusalem], during April.

According to a report released on Monday by the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, Palestinian Prisoner Club, “Addameer” Foundation and Wadi Hilweh, the occupation arrested 1228 Palestinians, including 793 Jerusalemites, 165 children and 11 women, noting that this is the highest rate of arrests since the beginning of this year.

The institutions indicated that the occupation forces committed – during the arrest campaigns-  grave violations, as a number of prisoners were shot and some of them were critically injured, and their families’ homes were vandalized or destroyed.

They also clarified that the number of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation’s prisons reached 4700 until the end of April, including 170 children and 32 female prisoners.
