Israeli occupation continues with its blatant violations of international legitimacy resolutions: Report
The Israeli occupation continues to blatantly violate international legitimacy resolutions by escalating settlement expansion in the West Bank through announcing more Judaization schemes that aim at creating a fait accompli on the ground and undermining any hope for establishing the independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
Recently, the occupation authorities announced 8 plans to expand settlements and establish 3058 new settlement units in the West Bank, including in Al-Quds, according to the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s (PLO) National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements.
In its weekly report published on Saturday, the bureau said that the Israeli plans aim at establishing the new settlement units on Palestinian lands in the villages and towns of the West Bank cities of Nablus, Salfit and Ramallah.
According to the report, settlement building activities and judiazation also continued in occupied Al-Quds with the aim of completely separating and isolating it from its Palestinian surrounding, changing its historical, legal and demographic situation and killing any hope for establishing the independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital. For this purpose, the report said, the occupation announced the establishment of 2000 settlement units to expand a settlement already built on the Palestinians’ land in Jabal Al-Masharef area, north of Al-Quds.
Moreover, the report said that the occupation forces demolished three trade facilities in the towns of Anata, Abu Dis and Beit Hanina and forced a Palestinian youth to demolish his own house in Jabal Al-Mukaber area. They also razed Palestinian lands in Al-Sal’a neighborhood in preparation to seize them and demolished three houses and two agricultural facilities north of Masafer yatta town in Al-Khalil, as well as a house and an agricultural facility in the town of Nhaleen in Bethlehem. They also destroyed a well in the town of Ni’lin, northwest of Ramallah, thereby depriving the Palestinians having access to drinking water.
The report went on to say that in the Northern Jordan Valley area, the occupation forces terrorized the locals in Khirbet Al-Ras al-Ahmar. They seized 6 tractors, 5 vehicles and 5 water tankers and stormed into Khirbet Al-Hdeidiya where they attacked the Palestinians. The occupation forces also destroyed a water pipeline extending from the village of Atouf to Sahl Al-Baqei’a area, south of Toubas city. The pipeline line was established to irrigate thousands of dunums of agricultural land, the report clarified.
Extremist settlers also continued to attack Palestinians in their cities and towns under the protection of the occupation forces. They aim at displacing the Palestinians and seizing and judaizing their lands. They stormed into Al-Quds old city and carried out provocative tours in the area of the Umayyad palaces, which overlook Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in Bab Al-Amoud and Bab Al-Hadid squares. The settlers also attacked Palestinian properties and houses in Al-Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, causing damage to a several houses, the report said.
It added that two Palestinians were injured after an Israeli settler driving a car ran over them near Jouret Al-Innab neighborhood, west of wall of Al-Quds old city.
Dozens of settlers also stormed into the archaeological area in the town of Sebastia, north of Nablus and attacked the town of Jaloud, south of Nablus where they assaulted the Palestinians and their properties.
