Zionist Forces Shoot Dead Palestinian Man in West Bank

Zionist  forces have shot and killed a Palestinian in the occupied West Bank after accusing him of carrying out an anti-Israeli attack.

The Palestinian was targeted on Wednesday after allegedly stabbing and wounding two Israelis at the entrance to the Jewish settlement of Beit Hadassah in the center of the occupied city of al-Khalil (Hebron).

One Israeli was wounded moderately and the other one sustained light injuries.

Ma’an News Agency quoted a local as saying that a large number of Israeli soldiers also raided homes and assaulted Palestinians following the incident.

Palestinian sources have identified the assassinated Palestinian as Abd al-RahmanYusri Maswada. Abd was the cousin of Ihab Zakariya Maswada, 21, who was killed by Israeli forces on Monday near a mosque in al-Khalil.

Tensions between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip continue unabated. The fresh wave of unrest was triggered by Israel’s imposition in August of restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

Palestinians are also angry at acts of violence by Israeli settlers who frequently storm the al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam. The Palestinians say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.

Zionist forces have been killing Palestinians on an almost daily basis since October when tensions intensified between the two sides.

Some 120 Palestinians and nearly 20 Israelis have been killed in the recent wave of clashes between Palestinians and Israelis since the start of October.
