Israel’s UN envoy tears up Human Rights Council’s report that condemns Israeli crimes against the Palestinians

Israel’s Representative to the United Nations Gilad Erdan has insulted the international organization by tearing up the report of the Human Rights Council (HRC) that condemns the Israeli continuous crimes against the Palestinians, including its aggression on Gaza Strip last May.

Erdan’s behavior came during  the UN General Assembly’s meeting held last night for discussing the HRC’s annual report.

The Israeli envoy tore up the report that contains the HRC’s condemnation of the Israeli crimes and its decision on forming an independent international committee for investigating the occupation authorities’ violations of the International Humanitarian Law and human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories since last April.

Ignoring the Israeli continuous crimes, Erdan claimed that the HRC’s report is biased.

Before tearing up the HRC ‘s report, the envoy said that the Council has issued 95 resolutions against Israel out of 142 ones issued since its foundation 15 years ago.

The tearing up incident is the second of its kind by Israel after the former Israeli UN Representative Chaim Herzog tore up a UN resolution that equals between Zionism and Racism,

During last April and May, the occupation escalated its attacks on the Palestinians in the West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, leading to the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians, the wounding of thousands others and the detention of hundreds others.  The occupation launched a land, sea and air aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip between  May 10th  and May 21st  that resulted in the martyrdom of 257 Palestinians, including 66 children, and the injury of more than 2,000 others and caused massive destruction to Palestinian properties, houses and infrastructure.
