DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Israeli enemy Wednesday dawn fired several missiles targeting al-Mazzeh airbase area in western Damascus. The missiles fell in the area surrounding the airbase and no casualties were reported.
A military source told SANA on Wednesday that “the Israeli enemy at 3 o’clock Wednesday dawn fired several surface-to-surface missiles from an area west of Tal Abu al-Nada in the occupied lands. The missiles fell in al-Mazzeh airport’s surrounding, causing big fire in site but no injuries were reported.”
The aggression comes within the framework of the enemy’s desperate attempt to support the terrorist groups and raise their collapsed morale. It is also an attempt to divert attention away from the successes of the Syrian army in the fight against Takfiri terrorists, according the source.
The source said that this aggression will strengthen the Syrian army’s determination to eliminate the Israeli-backed terrorist groups.
Media and intelligence reports affirm the close connection between the Israeli enemy and Jabhat al-Nusra and its affiliated terrorist groups.
Syrian army unites repeatedly seized Israeli-made weapons and ammunitions in terrorist groups’ arms depots and dens, most recently was the weapons seized by the army in Khan al-Shih area near Damascus after the terrorists left it.
Last month, the Israeli enemy warplanes fired two rockets against al-Saboura area in Damascus Countryside from the Lebanese airspace.
