Israeli attacks on Syria are part of Israel’s direct support for terrorist groups: Omani newspaper  

The latest Israeli aggression on Syria has confirmed the Israeli entity’s role in prolonging the crisis in the country through supporting terrorist organizations and through direct intervention to serve these organizations, the Omani “Al-Watan” Newspaper has stressed. 

The newspaper said in its editorial on Tuesday that “the role that has been played by the Israeli occupation entity during the aggression on Syria over the past decade has become evident to all. This entity was not satisfied with the support it provided for the terrorists in Syria, rather, it exploited the aggression and interfered directly through violating the Syrian airspace and attacking Syrian territories in a blatant violation of all international conventions.” 

The newspaper went on to say that Israel aims at prolonging the war in Syria, the country that has been one of the key pillars of resistance against the Israeli presence in the region. 

Therefore, the newspaper pointed out, the Israeli entity is keen on keeping Syria busy in tackling its internal affairs, so that it can’t play its regional role, which is based on several principles, including the liberation of the occupied Syrian Golan. 

The latest Israeli aggression, which on Sunday targeted some points in Damascus Countryside and Tartous, reaffirms that the Israeli occupation wants to keep Syria busy in certain wars that distract it from its main goal, which is ending the global war waged against it and eliminating the terrorist hotbeds in the country and establish the Syrian sovereignty over the entire Syrian territory, the newspaper went on to say. 

It clarified that repeating the Israeli attacks affirms Israel’s failure to benefit from the war to achieve its goals in swallowing all the occupied Arab lands and realizing the Israeli dreams. 

The newspaper concluded by stressing that Israel’s impunity encourages it to commit more crimes and continue working to implement its evil schemes in the region.
