Cairo (ST) – Chairman of the Democratic Generation Party in Egypt Nagy Al-Shehabi condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted a number of areas in Syrian last night, stressing that this aggression and the martyrs and wounded it left behind are a crime that is added to the criminal record of the extremist Zionist entity.
“The international community stands helpless in the face of these repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian lands due to the support of the West, led by the United States, for the usurping entity,” Al-Shehabi said.
Al-Shehabi held the US government responsible for the continuation of Israel’s brutal crimes and its repeated attacks that violate the United Nations Charter and international and humanitarian law.
Al-Shehabi called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities to stop the Israeli arrogance and raids and to condemn them, as well as to work to stop the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
In a related context, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas strongly condemned the brutal Zionist aggression on the outskirts of the city of Misyaf, which resulted in the martyrdom of 18 martyrs and the injury of 37, including critical cases, stressing that it is a flagrant violation of international law.
Hamas called on the international community to condemn this aggression and the occupation’s violations of international laws and norms and to work to hold the occupation’s leaders accountable and ensure that they do not escape punishment for their brutal crimes against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region.
In turn, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated: “The massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in the outskirts of Masyaf last night, and the setting of fires in public and citizen property is a war crime for which the occupation must be punished; firstly for its aggression against the sovereignty of an independent state, the Syrian Arab Republic, secondly for targeting unarmed civilians, and thirdly for targeting civilian property, including forests, orchards and private farms.”
The Front offered its condolences to the Syrian state, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded, and affirming the Palestinians’ support for Syria in the common battle against the fascist Israeli occupation and its criminal project.
