Zionism and Terrorism Are “Organically-Connected”: Shaaban

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban has stressed that Zionism is “organically-connected” to terrorism, therefore, “the war on terrorism is a war against Zionism”.

In a statement to reporters following an intellectual symposium held on Wednesday by al-Quds International Foundation (Syria) in Damascus, Shaaban said “when the axis of resistance began to defeat the terrorists and win the war on terrorism in Syria, the terrorists’ masters and supporters in different countries have gone crazy and began to send their troops whether the Turkish invasion forces or the US forces which came to replace terrorism in the Syrian north.”

 The symposium included a documentary on the usurpation of the Palestinian territories and presentations about the goals of US President Donald Trump’s decision to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied al-Quds.

Dr. Shaaban underscored that resistance against the Israeli occupation in Palestine is similar to resistance against terrorism in Syria, because in both cases resistance is facing the enemy of independence and humanity.

Intellectuals, during the symposium, presented historical documents explaining the Zionist enemy’s schemes against the region over hundreds of years. They shed light on the reasons of the global terrorist war on Syria, including Syria’s adherence to the Palestinian cause and to the right to liberate the occupied Arab territories. The intellectuals warned against the consequences of the decisions made against Palestine during the conferences that used to be held to solve the Palestinian cause and talked about the danger threatening most of the Palestinian areas because of the Zionist occupation’s settlement building activities.
