BEIRUT, (ST)- Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin has voiced Russia’s concern about the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories, mainly Afrin town.
In a statement to the Lebanese “al-Nour” Radio on Tuesday, Zasypkin said “the Russian stance on the Turkish military intervention in Afrin is represented in Russia’s voicing great concern about this issue.” He called for “respecting Syria’s official stance which considers the Turkish intervention in Syria as an aggression.”
“Fighting terrorism and coordination on this issue is something and the Turkish intervention in Syria is something else,” Zasypkin added.
The Russian diplomat pointed out that preparations for holding the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi on its set time , which is January 29 and 30, are underway.
