BEIRUT- Syria is facing regionally and internationally-backed armed terrorist organizations and is defending its people against terrorism, Russia’s Ambassador in Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin has stressed.
In a radio statement on Monday, Zasypkin said: “the international community should focus on terrorism fighting”, pointing out that the alliance formed in the NATO latest summit is incomplete and it won’t be effective because some countries concerned in fighting terrorism are not included in this alliance.
“Fighting terrorism is done through the unity of international community forces not through making some blocs that want to use the terrorism issue to achieve economic interests,” Zasypkin added, affirming that the political process is more important than anything else.
He urged the Lebanese people to unify their efforts to confront the threat posed by the terrorists of the ISIL and called for coordination between Syria and Lebanon in combating terrorism.
