Zarif urges all Yemeni sides to enter constructive engagement

TEHRAN– Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called upon all sides of the intra-Yemeni talks to enter a constructive engagement to put an end to the crisis.

In a Tweet on Monday, Zarif wrote, “Iran supports the upcoming intra-Yemeni talks in Sweden. All sides should enter constructive and responsible engagement to end the crisis in #Yemen.”

He went on to say that “the world has historic responsibility to back dialogue incl by halting arming of aggressors.”

Zarif also published the statement of Iran’s Foreign Ministry in support of Yemeni-Yemeni talks, according to the Mehr News Agency.

The statement highlights that Tehran is ready to help alleviate the worsening situation in Yemen, calling on the international community to speed up the operations to send humanitarian aids to the war-torn country.

It urges the sides to seize the opportunity to take effective steps toward confidence-building and reaching a comprehensive consensus over the issue so as to put an end to the dire situation of Yemeni people.
