Zarif: The departure of the American forces from the region is the inevitable fate of Washington’s recklessness
Tehran, ST- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that the departure of the American forces from the region is the inevitable fate of the disregard of Washington, which supports the war and claims that it wants peace and stability.
Zarif said in a speech today at the Dialogue Complex in Tehran that “the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, is a major American gamble, and the American raid targeting him and the deputy commander of the Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, Abo Mahdi al-Muhandis, was not only a violation of Iraqi sovereignty, but also aimed at targeting one of the pillars of security in the region.”
Zarif explained that Washington’s wrong policies led to instability in the region, noting that the miscalculation is not confined to it, but extends to some of its allies in the region and the world.
Zarif stressed that the security of the region is achieved through dialogue and cooperation between its countries, pointing out that the Hormuz peace initiative put forward by President Hassan Rouhani depends on the region’s need to build new foundations based on understanding, away from the attacks and destruction in order to achieve peace.
