Zarif: Iran Ready To Work With West On Common Grounds

Iran is ready to work with the West on common grounds of cooperation, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks in a meeting with New Zealand Deputy Secretary of Multilateral and Legal Group, Gerard van Bohemen.

ˈAchieving a world without nuclear weapons and fighting terrorism are two common grounds of cooperation between Iran and the West,ˈ he said.

Pointing to Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks, Zarif added that both parties to the talks should act responsibly as a precondition to a win-win solution.

ˈNuclear weapons have no place in Irans defense doctrine and the West should give up its double standard approach towards the peaceful use of nuclear energy by different countries,ˈ Zarif said.

New Zealand deputy secretary of multilateral and legal group, for his part, declared his country’s support for Irans peaceful nuclear program.

ˈNew Zealand is ready to expand cooperation with Iran in all fields; Iran plays an important role in stability and security of the region including Afghanistan.ˈ
