Zarif: Iran is open to dialogue with neighboring countries

Tehran, ST- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif confirmed that his country is open to dialogue with neighboring countries and is ready to participate in any action that is in the interest of the countries of the region.

According to  “Fars” News Agency, Zarif tweeted today, “Iran is open to dialogue with its neighbors. We declare our readiness to participate in any work that is in the interest of the region and welcome any step that provides stability and prosperity to its people.”

Iranian officials consistently stress that developing relations with neighboring countries is a priority in Tehran’s foreign policy.

 

Hatami: Iran will respond to any threat it faces

In the same context, the Iranian Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, affirmed that his country has possessed all defensive elements and will respond with sophisticated weapons against any threat.

“The Ministry of Defense has always emphasized commitment to the standards in line with our defense needs,” Hatami said, speaking today at the first forum for the standards of the armed forces held in Tehran.

Hatimi referred to the missile response by the Iranian armed forces to the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani that targeted the headquarters of the American forces at Ayn al-Asad base in western Iraq, pointing out that this response was “according to the highest standards in terms of time and accuracy of the missiles.”
