On October 8, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed his country’s rejection of the Turkish aggression on Syrian territories, underlining the necessity to respect the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Syria.
The Turkish army attacked on Monday evening the northeastern countryside of Hasaka, targeting sites near the illegal crossing of Simalka on the Syrian-Iraqi border and Tal Tawil in the al-Malikiyah area, where there are positions of the separatist SDF militia.
During a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Zarif stressed the need to combat terrorism and establish security and stability in Syria, pointing out that the implementation of the Adana agreement is the best option for Syria and Turkey.
