Zarif Congratulates Syrian Counterpart al-Muallemon Liberation of Palmyra

 

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message congratulated liberation of historic site of Palmyra (Tadmur) to his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem.

He congratulated Syrian foreign minister, people and government for liberation of the historical city of Palmyra from terrorists’ hands.

I believe Syria will continue to move in direction of maintaining unity and territorial integrity, fight against terrorism and progress in the political process, which is a firm obstacle in the way of growth of terrorism in the region,’ Zarif said.

 

He wished final victory for Syrian armed forces, people and government of Syria over extremist terrorists and also wished welfare, security and tranquility for the Syrian people.

Iranian Defense minister congratulates Syria’s recent victories

Meanwhile, Defense Minster Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan congratulated the Syrian people and government on recent victories gained by the army in that country.

Dehqan extended felicitation during a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Fahd Jassem al-Freij.

Dehqan described the Sunday liberation of the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra (Tadmur) from the terrorists as the Syrian army’s special victory.

The Iranian minister further underlined importance of continuation of military operations in order to uproot terrorism in the region and liberate the remaining areas in Syria from occupation of the terrorist groups.

For his part, al-Freij appreciated Iran’s support for Syria.

Undoubtedly, he said, the aid extended by Syria’s friends including Iran played a leading role in achieving that liberation.

Liberation of Tadmur was an effective step towards final victory, he stressed.
