Zarif Briefs Parliament On Nuclear Talks Achievements

Tehran – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday briefed the parliament on the achievements of his nuclear negotiations.

He told the formal session of the parliament that as a tangible outcome of the interim nuclear agreement signed in Geneva on November 24, 2013, the enrichment right was recognized.

He said the Geneva Agreement endorses Iran’s right for nuclear enrichment and only debates the percentage by which it is to be carried out.

By today, everybody considers enrichment for industrial use as an inalienable right for Iran and no one doubts it, Zarif said.

He said all the achievements were due to resistance of the nation, efforts of nuclear scientists and the blessings of the sacred blood of nuclear martyrs.

 

He said that the western leaders no longer use the term ‘Iran’s nuclear arms program’ as they used before and the Israeli Netanyahu has been isolated in promoting the idea.

The leaders of the US and western governments underlined that Iran is opposed to proliferation of weapons of mass destruction as well as the religious edict issued by the Supreme Leader banning manufacture and stockpiling nuclear weapons, Zarif said.

Iran’s effort to achieve nuclear weapon was a big hallucination and sheer lie speculated by Zionist regime, he said.

The Zionists have been left defenseless vis-a-vis the international community’s indignation at the crimes against humanity and the war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli authorities against Palestinians, he said.

Stabilization of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program has irritated the Zionist regime, he said.

Iran’s rational policies have changed the scene of political developments and now the Zionist regime is involved in campaign against the European governments willing to recognize the Palestinian state, he said.

Under such circumstances, resistance to Israeli occupation is now more forceful and political pillars of Zionists’ tyranny and anti-human policies have weakened, he said.

‘I am very proud to witness that the Zionist regime has been defeated in masterminding its mischievous plots against Iran and Islam in the region,’ he said.

The whole world regards the Islamic Republic of Iran as a powerful and wise player whose role cannot be ignored and it should be taken into account in regional and global calculations, he said.

All believe that Iran never back sectarian violence and rather Iran tries to bring both Shia and Sunni much closer to seriously deal with influence of aliens in the region, he said.

On nuclear negotiations, he said G5+1 fully understands that Iran is committed to negotiations and rejects humiliation.

Iran believes in rationality, reasons and under no circumstances yield to bullying, he said.

World admitting Iran is committed to obligations, says Zarif

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the world has now admitted Iran is committed to its obligations.

He made the remarks here on Tuesday in the Iranian parliament when answering questions posed by one hundred members of the parliament.

Briefing the legislators on the objective and performance of the Iranian nuclear team in negotiations with G5+1, he said self-dependence, relying on the nation’s own internal resources, following principles of the Economy of Resistance, promoting defense capabilities, playing an active and influential role in the regional developments and national solidarity are the keys to the strength of the Iranian nation.

He said the nuclear talks practically prevented conspiracies hatched by the Zionist lobbies and American radicals to bring down Iran’s oil exports to zero.

An outcome of the negotiations was the return of parts of nation’s assets which were frozen unjustly by enemies, the foreign minister noted.

He stressed that no wise person would now talk about having all options – including war – on the table against Iran, adding that, rather, the world is now focusing on the time and ways of removing sanctions.

Zarif reiterated that the Western states involved in the talks are now well aware of the fact that Iran has been detested hegemony and remained absolutely committed to its obligations.

Zarif discusses nuclear talks with EU’s Mogherini, Italian FM

In the same context,  Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini discussed latest developments pertaining to Iran’s nuclear negotiations with G5+1.

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, the two officials reviewed the latest regional and international development with Mogherini.

They also stressed the need for continuing talks and exchange of views in a regular basis.

Zarif also conferred with his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentilioni on the phone.

The Iranian foreign minister reiterated consolidation of relations with Italy.

The two foreign ministers focused on the latest regional and international developments.

They also stressed the need for exchange of views and political delegations between the two countries.
