Zaporozhye region prepares to hold a referendum on joining Russia

Moscow, (ST) –Member of the Presidential Council of the Civil Military Administration of Zaporozhye Vladimir Rogov announced that the referendum on the region’s accession to Russia will take place this year. He stressed that preparations for it have begun.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, Rogov said that “a unified decision has been taken to start preparations for a referendum in the Zaporozhye region on joining Russia. The referendum will take place this year and the formulation of questions will be presented to the referendum soon, after the overwhelming majority of the region’s population expressed their desire to become part of Greater Russia.

Rogov added that, the sooner we become part of Russia, the faster our lives will improve, and we will only be able to realize our full human industrial and natural potential in one Russian family.

During the special operation, the Russian forces managed to take control of the Kherson and Azov regions and the Zaporozhye region in southern Ukraine, where civil and military administrations were established in these regions to regulate the course of life in them.
