PRAGUE, (ST)- The Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek has stressed that the issue of halting the funding of terrorist organizations particularly ISIS is one of the main tasks of the international community.
Zaoralek, who was replying to questions put forward by Czech parliament members, said that ISIS terrorist organization gets funding from three sources; selling stolen oil, human trafficking by selling women and children as sex slaves and by getting ransom for kidnapped hostages in addition to smuggling the antiquities the terrorists looted from ISIS-controled areas.
The Czech minister pointed out that ISIS earns more than $1.5 million a day from the mentioned above activities.
In August of 2014, the Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution under Chapter VII of the UN Charter aiming at cutting off human and financial supplies from ISIS and al-Nousra Front terrorist organizations.
Zaoralek avoided answering a question on the role played by the United States in financing and training ISIS terrorists saying only that halting the fuding of terrorists was one of the key topics on the agenda of the latest G7 summit held earlier this year in the German city of Bavaria.
