Zakharova: General situation in Syria positively enhancing

Moscow – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that general situation in Syria and its dynamic development is positively enhancing.

Zakharova said in a press briefing in Moscow on Thursday that the general situation in Syria and its dynamic development is positively enhancing as the hotbeds of terrorism have been fully destroyed in southwest Syria, control over the border with Jordan established and the reconciliation process in the liberated areas from the terrorists underway, SANA reported.

 

“According to UN data, about one million [people] could return to Syria in the coming months, to be more precise, 890,000 refugees,” Zakharova said.

She pointed out that the Syrian government decided to set up a special coordination committee for the displaced people to ensure the appropriate conditions to facilitate their return to their home.
