Zakharova: America seeks to turn the Asia-Pacific region into a new offensive front for its forces

On April 7th, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United States of America is seeking to turn the Asia-Pacific region into a new offensive front for its forces.

“The United States of America is renaming the region to the Indo-Pacific Company, which makes this region a new point of confrontation and transfers the strength of the future American influence there, which creates a region of tension around Australia,” Zakharova said in a television interview, RIA Novosti news agency quoted her as saying.

The United States, Britain and Australia announced last September the formation of a security alliance called (AUKUS), under which Australia would receive American assistance in the manufacture of eight nuclear-powered submarines.
