Zakani and Dayyoub underline the importance of cooperation between Iran and Syria in development and reconstruction

Tehran (ST): Mayor of Tehran Dr. Alireza Zakani reiterated that Syria is an important country in the axis of resistance and that Iran will always stand by it. He expressed his country’s readiness to provide all expertise and experience in various fields to Syria.

During his meeting with the Syrian Ambassador Dr. Shafiq Dayyoub, Zakani said, “The municipality of Tehran has capabilities, well-studied programs and broad platforms in the field of social development, and the Syrian side can benefit from them.” He proposed the formation of a joint committee between the governorates of Damascus and Tehran to develop plans for future cooperation between them.

Zakani invited the governor of Damascus to visit Tehran to learn about the available capabilities and discuss possible ways and mechanisms of cooperation.

For his part, Dayyoub stressed that the enemies of Syria failed to impose their will on it through terrorism and aggression and resorted to the practice of economic terrorism to achieve their goals, noting the importance of cooperation between the two capitals of the two friendly countries, especially in the field of development and reconstruction, which serves the interests of both sides.
