Syria, Iraq discuss the situation of the Syrians in Iraq

The Iraqi Minister of Immigration and Displacement Evan Faeq Jabro discussed with the Syrian Ambassador in Baghdad Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to the situation of the Syrians in Iraq.
The Iraqi Ministry of Immigration said in a statement: “Jabro expressed, at the outset of the meeting, her condolences to the families of the victims of the recent earthquake that struck Syria and her sympathy for the wounded,” stressing that the Iraqi government and people stand with the Syrian people, and that the relief aid convoys that arrived in Syria are a small part of the solidarity of the two brotherly peoples.
The two sides discussed some important files related to the situation of Syrian refugees in Iraq and ways to provide them with assistance.
Ambassador Al-Dandah stated that “The meeting focused on the depth of fraternal, historical and cultural relations between the two countries, and keenness on developing and advancing them.”
Al-Dandah explained that the two sides discussed the situation of Al-Hawl camp and the procedures taken by the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Immigration to return Iraqi families to Al-Jada’a camp, stressing the importance of coordination with the Syrian government, since the camp is located in its territory.
Al-Dandah pointed out that the two sides agreed on the importance of coordination in the conditions of the displaced and the exchange of visits, experiences and information between the two countries.
Al-Dandah also thanked the government and people of Iraq for their grand support in providing relief to those affected by the earthquake disaster.
