Young Syrian director Majid Al-Khatib wins Best Director award at Whistler Film Festival for his film “Day Zero”
Young Syrian director Majid Al Khatib has won the Best Director award at Whistler Film Festival held in Seoul, South Korea, for his feature film “Day Zero”.
The film revolves around characters living during the terrorist war on Syria, showing how their destinies intersect within a complicated atmosphere.
The film’s dialogue is mostly in English, with a few scenes in Arabic.
The film was chosen to represent Syria among a collection of international films at the festival.
Marah Hijaz and Marhaf Al-Krad participated in the acting, while Ghaith Marzouqi designed the scenography, Haider Al-Hamid and Amin Abu Al-Qasim worked on the photography, and Ali Suleiman composed the music, while the technical operations were supervised by Ibrahim Tawil.
