Young engineer sets up company for producing wind turbines to generate power

SWEIDA, Jan.3, (ST)-The young mechanical engineer Dheya’a Abdullah has developed his own design of a wind turbine and set up  a small company for generating renewable and alternative power.

The 32-old engineer told the Syrian Arab News Agency that his project will help face the lack of power resources caused by the war  and ensure job opportunities.

He believes that his project supports research for the resources of clean and free power in the fields of agricultural projects and dairy farms and economic centers such as malls and restaurants.

The engineer depends on the wind in winter and sun in summer to generate power – thus electricity will be on continuously.

He set up his company 18 months ago after he had followed a course at Youth Empowerment Center on how to set up a successful project.

Abdullah received 6 million Syrian ponds from the UNDP to launch his project to which another young man, his name Rabea Abo Monzer joined to be a partner through working in electrical engineering.
