The Yemeni army on Saturday announced that its air defenses shot down a US-made spy drone, affiliated to the Saudi-led aggression coalition against Yemen, in Marib province.
Spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Sarie, said in a statement reported by Almasirah.net website that “the Yemeni air defenses shot down an American “ScanEagle” spy drone using a surface-to-air missile during its aggressive acts in the airspace of Madghal district, Marib.”
Sarie pointed out that the operation was documented and scenes of the plane wreckage will be broadcast later.
The Yemeni army has shot down many spy planes affiliated to the Saudi-led coalition, the latest of which was on the 22nd of last June in Sarwah city in Marib province, northeast of Yemen.
