Writers’ Union Annual Conference Proposals: Development of Culture Mechanisms while Focusing on Quality

Developing the mechanism of cultural work and focusing on quality in the literary product were the most important propositions discussed by members of the annual conference of the Arab Writers Union of today, Tuesday, the 22nd of February 2022.

The conference, which was held in the Al-Assad National Library, discussed the report of the Executive Office regarding the work of the Union during the past year, the increase in the value of material compensation for books and published materials, the formation of committees supervising the cultural work, the development of investment of the Union’s facilities in Damascus and the Governorates, as well as the development of cultural activities in the branches of the Union.

Debates centered on the Syrian writers’ role of contributing to the country’s steadfastness, the concerted efforts of intellectuals and writers to preserve the cultural and creative heritage and preserve Syrian culture and civilization, as well as the literary projects that were launched to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who confronted the terrorist war on Syria,
