The Arab Writers’ Union in cooperation with the Syrian Association for Human Rights on Thursday hosted a lecture by Syrian writer Nadia Khoust highlighting the key role of Syrian women throughout history.
Dr. Khoust explained that the Syrian women have participated throughout history in all the issues that contribute to protecting the homeland and confronting the American hegemony on the world.

The Syrian women have also participated in the Syrian Great Revolution against France and in the Palestinian cause, as they proved high ability do political work, citing several Syrian women as shining examples of Syrian women, such as Oulfat Al-Idlibi and Mari Ajami among others.
She noted the important role played by women in confronting the disasters and crises that faced Syria since the beginning of the terrorist war until the earthquake.
For his part, Head of the Arab Writers Union Mohammad Al-Hourani said that that such cultural meetings clarified that the aim of holding this symposium is to shed light on the leading social and cultural role played by women, particularly within the current difficult circumstances through which the country is passing.
