World Health Organization Expresses Concern Over Israeli Attacks on Lebanese Health Facilities

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed serious concern over the Israeli attacks targeting health facilities and health sector workers in Lebanon.

“Although 55 attacks on health facilities have been confirmed, the actual number is likely to be much higher,” said WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris at a press briefing in Geneva today, adding: “We are deeply concerned by the growing attacks on health workers and health facilities in Lebanon.”

Harris reiterated that health care and health workers should not be a target, noting that they are suffering from stress and displacement, and the loss of health workers continues despite the need for them.

According to the figures of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the number of victims of the health and hospital sector as a result of targeting by the Israeli enemy exceeded 172 martyrs and 233 wounded, with 39 hospitals, 80 medical and ambulance centers and 242 vehicles damaged.
