Head of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has confirmed that reports of an Israeli bombing of tents for displaced people in the city of Rafah in the south Gaza Strip are disgraceful news that words cannot describe, calling once again for a ceasefire in the Strip.
Adhanom Ghebreyesus twitted on x platform “Reports said that tents housing displaced people in Rafah were bombed, resulting in dozens of casualties and injuries, including children”, pointing out that “among the victims were two health workers.
He stressed that health workers and civilians are not military targets and must be protected at all times, calling on the Israeli occupation entity to cease fire in Gaza.
11 Palestinians were martyred, and 50 others were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation bombing a tent for displaced people west of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. A paramedic was also martyred inside Tal Al-Sultan Hospital in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, as a result of the Israeli bombing.
Warnings and appeals continue about the consequences of the Israeli occupation’s invasion of the city of Rafah, which is crowded with displaced people as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Strip.
